Fido turns on LTE network in Toronto, Vancouver, and other Canadian cities

Canadian carrier Fido has turned on its LTE network in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottowa, Calgary, and St. John’s. “As of today, Fido LTE devices are capable of maximum theoretical download speeds of up to 100 Mbps and Fido customers are experiencing typical download speeds from 12 Mbps to 25 Mbps for most devices,” reads an announcement on the company’s website. As _iMore_ points out, Fido’s parent company, Rogers, has had LTE for some time, though the two businesses operate as separate entities. While Fido’s only current LTE device is a MiFi-style mobile hotspot, customers can presumably look forward to 4G-enabled smartphones and tablets in the coming months.
